Yeshua and the ascent to Zion: A study on Greater Exodus motifs

Ever wondered about what is known about the “greater exodus”? What exactly do Yeshua the apostles have to say about such a topic? This study hopes to contribute to the wider discussion among the Messianic and Hebrew roots communities about this vital topic. Some key passages are analysed and unpacked to equip people interested in this matter with some additional tools to get a fuller picture of the Prophecies and narratives and how they were being indicated by Yeshua and his apostles. Each generation has different questions, and as our knowledge grows of how to understand Yeshua in the context of the Tanach, the benefit of having greater clarity about this central issue will bring us into a greater understanding of the Torah and its interpretation, and a better knowledge of how Yeshua and his apostles handled the Torah.

Have you ever heard about the “greater exodus”? Are you wondering where exactly that is in the Scriptures and how Yeshua and the apostles would have interpreted the verses concerning it? This study is geared towards the Messianic and Hebrew roots communities although it is written in such a way to still be accessible to those outside of those communities. If you have an interest in the Gospels, Epistles and Revelation then this study could help you explore the topic of the greater exodus.

This study begins by laying out a summary of the Prophecies concerning the “greater exodus” in some of the main Prophets who speak about this event. A summary is given for Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Hosea and Zephaniah. A cohesive narrative is then provided to combine the different Prophecies together to aid the reader in having an overview of the combined Prophecies.

The next few sections then look at Paul, Peter and the Gospels to show that they were pointing to Prophecies that have a context of the wilderness experience. Afterwards some implications for our reading of Revelation are then drawn out. By the end of the study you will be fully versed in the main Prophecies and contexts which can then be used to investigate this topic in a much richer way.

The study itself is designed for people of all levels. There are “key notes”, “summary points” and “summary conclusions” interspersed throughout to aid the reader.

The study will equip the reader with the tools to navigate the Tanach (the Torah, Prophets and Writings) and connect some dots together. This is part of a seven part series concerning Yeshua and Zion. Other works include; Yeshua and the desolate woman: A study on the Gospel to Zion and Yeshua and Zion's resurrected children: A study on resurrection motifs.

Yeshua and the desolate woman: A study on the Gospel to Zion

Ever wanted to know more about how Zion fits into the Gospels, Epistles and Revelation? Or who exactly was the Gospel directed at? Or how would they have interpreted the many Prophecies about Zion? In this study Disciple Nazarene looks at some contexts and Prophecies that speak about Zion and how they link up with what Yeshua and his apostles are speaking about.

Have you ever noticed that there are lots of Prophecies about Zion in the Scriptures? Exactly how do those Prophecies fit into the Gospels, Epistles and Revelation? This study is geared towards the Messianic and Hebrew roots communities although it is written in such a way to still be accessible to those outside of those communities. If you have an interest in the Gospels, Epistles and Revelation then this study could help you explore the topic Zion.

The apostle Paul speaks about a desolate and barren woman in Galatians 4:27, what exactly is the back story for such imagery? Why is it important for Paul to point his audience to a context about bringing happiness and children to a woman (Jerusalem) who has been bereaved of her children?

These and other topics are explored, like why was the Gospel rejected? And who is going to be the Light to the nations? These topics are discussed and unpacked to aid the reader to have a much richer understanding of how the Gospel is intimately connected to bringing about a resolution to Zion's heartache.

The study itself is designed for people of all levels. There are “key notes”, “summary points” and “summary conclusions” interspersed throughout to aid the reader.

The study will equip the reader with the tools to navigate the Tanach (the Torah, Prophets and Writings) and connect some dots together. שלום! Shalom!

Yeshua and Zion's resurrected children: A study on resurrection motifs

This study is geared towards the Messianic and Hebrew roots communities although it is written in such a way to still be accessible to those outside of those communities. If you have an interest in the Gospels, Epistles and Revelation then this study could help you explore the topic of the resurrection.

The apostle Paul said that Yeshua rose on the third day “according to the Scriptures”, is he speaking about some vague proof text, or is he pointing towards a motif (theme) and rhythm in the Scriptures that culminates in one person?

Looking at Creation this study investigates resurrection themes which spiral outwards to other passages, including Exodus, Joshua, Jonah, Ezekiel and Hosea. Scriptures are like a woven tapestry and through following the many threads we can come to a clearer picture of what the apostle Paul meant when he said “according to the Scriptures”.

Also included is some discussion on what tradition says about the resurrection and how that impacts the words of the apostle Paul. Twinkling of an eye, the shofar (trumpet) that raises the dead and a resurrection at Sinai (in Exodus 19-24) are all discussed.

The study itself is designed for people of all levels. There are “key notes”, “summary points” and “summary conclusions” interspersed throughout to aid the reader. The study then focuses in on Revelation and draws together some threads that have been explored to unpack some details in Revelation 20-22.

The study will equip the reader with the tools to navigate the Tanach (the Torah, Prophets and Writings) and connect some dots together. This is part of a seven part series concerning Yeshua and Zion. Other works include; Yeshua and the desolate woman: A study on the Gospel to Zion and Yeshua and the ascent to Zion: A study on greater exodus motifs.
