Pentecost (Shavuot) in Prophecy! “A Shadow of Good Things to Come!”

Was the primary meaning of the Day of Pentecost fulfilled on the day when the Kadosh (holy) Spirit breathed new life into The Assembly that Yeshua (Jesus) promised He would rebuild [Strong’s 3618, OBGL], or does Pentecost have more to do with events taking place “BEFORE the coming of the great and awesome DAY OF Yehovah (the ‘Lord’)”? This article is not focused on the first century Pentecost, it is about the prophesied events necessary to fulfill the essence of Pentecost’s meaning—that Peter thought was going to happen right then and there. Peter actually jumped the gun on Pentecost in 31 AD, thinking that “the Day of Yehovah” (the LORD) was beginning. Why did he think that “the Day of Yehovah” was beginning then—and why should you believe that it is imminent now?
This article is really about what was NOT fulfilled on Pentecost (Shavuot) in 31 AD!

(Unless stated otherwise, verses throughout this article are taken from the Gabriel Bible [TGB])

 Acts 2:1 [TGB

1 When the days of Pentecost [Aramaic: Pen-ikaos-ia] were fully counted, while they  were all as together,

There is no doubt that this was the most amazing Day of Pentecost since the very first one, but it is not the Day that Peter thought it was going to be! This is what happened on Pentecost of 31 AD.

Acts 2: 2-13
2 a sudden sound came from the sky, similar to a violent wind. Aloha’s [God’s] entire House* where they were sitting was filled with it.
3 Then what looked like separate flaming tongues of fire appeared to them, and a flame rested on each of them.
4 They were all filled with the kadosh spirit and began speaking in various languages as the spirit enabled them to speak.
5 Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem who revered YHVH [Yehovah] from every nation  under the sky.
6 When they heard the noise, many people gathered around in amazement, because everyone heard them speaking in their own language.
7 They were all amazed and astonished and began asking each other, “Aren’t all of these people who are speaking Galileans?   8 So how can each of us hear them in our own native language?
9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people living between the rivers [Mesopotamia], Jews and Cappadocians, people from the region of Pontus and of Asia,
10 people from the region of Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, from parts of Libya near Cyrene, visitors from Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretans, and Arabs. We hear them speaking the wonders of YHVH in our own languages.”
12 They were all astounded and entirely at a loss, asking each other, “What’s going on?”
13 However others ridiculed them and said, “They’re drunk on sweet wine.”

[* The events of  Acts 2 take place in the Temple (commonly known as “The House”) and not in the ‘upper room’.]

[Verse 2:46 verifies this fact. The myth that the upper room was the birth-place of a separate entity called the “church” is a diabolical effort to change the place of the events of that historical day from “The House” on the Temple mount to the small upper room on the Mount of Olives. How could 3000 people fit and be baptized (mikvah) in the upper room which didn’t have the facilities for mikvah (“The House” of the Temple did have them) nor did it have enough space to accomodate 3000 converts.]
Commentary from La Traducción Kadosh {Kadosh Version in Spanish}-translated by NAZARENES TO THE WORLD.

[…The heretical “upper room outpouring” doctrine is the foundation to replacement theology and demonstrative of the general biblical and historical illiteracy of Western Christianity. The apostles and the thousands of disciples from the Galilee were all gathered in Jerusalem for the Feast of Shavuot, just as they had faithfully done their entire lives. They were all on the Temple Mount as they were expected to be. When the gift of Ruach Kodesh was given, the sound filled the entire House of Prayer, the Beit haMikdash, and they began to breathe in deeply, just as they were instructed byYeshua a few days earlier (John 20:22)-The Chrononogical Gospels by Michael Rood]

In the Zephaniah 3 account, the language, (or speech), of the entire earth will be pure. Perhaps there will only be one language (v.9). Peter knew that Elohim (God) will purge out the wicked and leave a humble people (vs.11-12). It would be logical for a person who believed that the Kingdom of Elohim was about to be set up, to be expecting Zephaniah 3 to be fulfilled immediately. Great intervention in the languages of mankind, as seemed to be happening on that Day of Pentecost would require Yehovah’s intervention. Knowing that the Feast Days commemorate momentous events both past, and even more so, concerning “things to come” (Colossians 2:17) Peter thought that the Day of Yehovah (the “Lord”) was being initiated on that very day! Based on his already existing assumption—that the end was near—that would have been “logical”. The envoys (apostles) had no idea that two millennia would elapse first! After Peter’s death, however, John revealed much more about the time following the Great Tribulation, the time when the Two Witnesses will be killed, and when “peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations” would view their bodies. (Revelation 11:9) Then during the Day of Yehovah (the “Lord”):

Revelation 14:6
6 Then I saw another Messenger flying thru the sky, who with blood had the everlasting Good News to proclaim to everyone living on earth—every nation, tribe, language and people.

Acts 2:14-21
14 Afterward Simon Cephas stood up with the eleven envoys, and raised his voice to address them: “Men, Jews, everyone who lives in Jerusalem, you need to understand this, so pay attention to what I say.
15 Don’t assume that these people are drunk, because it is only the third hour [9:00 AM]
16 This is what the prophet Joel [2:28-30] was talking about.
17 In the last days YHVH says, ‘I’ll pour My spirit on all of humanity, your sons will prophesy, and your daughters and your young men will see visions, and your old men will ‘have’ dreams.
18 This is when I’ll pour My spirit on My servants, both men and women, and they’ll prophesy.
19 I’ll display miraculous signs in the sky above and unusual occurrences on the earth—blood, fire, and columns of smoke.
20 The sun will be darkened and the moon ‘will become’ blood red before the great and awesome Day of YHVH arrives.

21 And everyone who calls on the name of YHVH will live!”

None of these things happened that day!
Was Pentecost that year a partial fulfilment of Joel 2? Was the Day of Yehovah also being “partially” fulfilled? Were those days “partially” the last days? No! The rest of the day did not live up to Peter’s expectations! Not only will “all flesh”, in this instance-everyone alive, have Yehovah’s spirit poured out on them so that they may repent, but the kadishea (saints) of Yehovah will have even more of His Spirit poured out on them!

Here is the rest of the text of Acts 2. Not a single jot or tittle from Peter’s discourse should be omitted, it’s the only significant discourse on the meaning of Pentecost that we have!

Acts 2:22-47
22 Men of Israel, listen to what I say, Yeshua the Nazarene was a Man endorsed by YHVH, by powerful events and miracles, that YHVH performed before you thru Him, as you yourselves know—
23 He was resigned by a previously envisioned plan by the will of YHVH, and you have delivered Him into the hands of the wicked to be crucified and killed.
24 But YHVH has raised Him from the dead and has released the cords of the grave, because it was impossible for Him to be held in Sheol.
25 Just as David said of Him, “I always see YHVH. He is on my right hand side so that I won’t be moved.
26 So I have peace of mind and praise in my speech. Even my body lives in hope,
27 because you won’t leave my body in the grave, or allow your Kadosh One to ‘undergo’ bodily decay. .
28 You’ve revealed the path of Life to me, You’ll fill me with joy in Your presence.
29 Men and Friends, allow me to speak freely to you about the patriarch David. He died, and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this very day.
30 He was a prophet, and he knew that YHVH had solemnly sworn to him, “Of the fruit of your body, I’ll seat a descendant on your throne.”
31 He foresaw, and spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that He wasn’t to be left in the grave, nor would His body undergo decay.
32 This Yeshua, YHVH raised from the dead, and we’re all His witnesses.
33 He’s the One who was elevated to the right hand of YHVH, and has received from the Father the kadosh spirit, as promised, and has poured out what you’re seeing and hearing.
34 David didn’t ascend into the heavens, because he said himself, “YHVH said to His Word [Targum of Jonathan (Aramaic) Psalm 110:1Gill’s Commentary], ‘Seat Yourself on My right hand side
35 until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.’”
36 So the entire family of Israel should know for certain that YHVH has made this Yeshua, who you crucified, both Master and Messiah.”
37 When they heard these things their consciences were pierced, so they asked Simon and the rest of the envoys, “What should we do?”
38 Simon said, “Amend your ways and be immersed, every one of you in the name of the Master Yeshua for the remission of sins, and you will receive the gift of the kadosh spirit,
39 because the promise belongs to you and to your children, and to everyone living far away that YHVH will call.”
40 ‘Using’ many different ‘approaches’ he plead with them, “Escape from this crooked generation.”
41 Some of them eagerly accepted his teaching and were immersed. That very day about three thousand living beings were added to the assembly.
42 They devoted themselves to the doctrine of the envoys, and fellowshipped together in prayer and in breaking bread.
43 A sense of awe came over everyone, and many miraculous signs and wonders were done ‘by’ of the envoys in Jerusalem.
44 All of the believers were staying together. Once prized possessions were now considered property of the community.
45 Those who had unneeded property sold it and distributed the proceeds to anyone who needed it.
46 They went to the Temple daily, in unity, and at home they broke bread and ate it rejoicing in singleness of purpose.

47 They praised YHVH, and were well thought of by all the people. Every day YHVH added ‘more people’ to those living among the congregation.

Incidentally, the only apparent reason that the early kadishea all sold their homes and lived communally was because they believed that the end of the age was to begin immediately and that money was of little concern! As soon as this error was discovered, the communal living ceased. During the Great Tribulation, when the worldly twelve tribes of Israel realized that money won’t save them, “They’ll throw their silver into the streets”—in despair! (Ezekiel 7:19)
Pentecost pictures the time when the “firstfruits” of Israel return to Yehovah, they will be the first whole generation of Israelites to return to Yehovah since the destruction of ancient Israel! Most teachers claim that the “church” is the firstfruits; under that false premise you miss the entire purpose of Pentecost. Paul was describing the “mystery”of Israel in Romans chapters 9,10, and 11! The coming rescue (salvation) of Israel remains a great mystery to most people to this very day! While “firstfruits” can refer to Yeshua, “the first of the firstfruits”, it also refers to Israelites in general or the 144,000 specifically (Revelation 14:4)
Romans 11:25-27
25 Friends, so that you won’t be presumptuous, I want you to know of this hidden mystery—that a degree of spiritual blindness has overtaken Israel until the full complement of the nations comes in,
26 and then all Israel will be Rescued. ‘As the Scriptures declare’, “A deliverer will come from Zion and turn Jacob from sinfulness.
27 And THEN they will have My [NEW] COVENANT, after I have forgiven their sins.”
Our generation of Postchristian America is almost totally biblically illiterate. But “My words” will not vanish from our culture ever again once we are living under “My Covenant”:
Isaiah 59:20-21
20 A Redeemer will come to Zion for those of the tribe of Jacob who turn from rebellion, says Yehovah.
21 As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says Yehovah. My Spirit that is on you, and My words that I’ve put in your mouth, won’t depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your descendants, or from the mouths of their descendants’, says Yehovah, “From today to forever.”
Indeed all of Israel, that is, those who are accounted worthy to survive the coming Great Tribulation on Israel, will be saved! When the prophecies from Joel actually occur, then all of Israel will have the kadosh (holy) spirit miraculously poured out on them. Peter thought that he was witnessing the beginning of that outpouring! Why do you suppose that the Bible preserved this erroneous assumption about Pentecost? THIS was NOT, as it turned out, the fulfilment of Joel’s prophesy concerning the Day of Yehovah! Yehovah allowed Peter’s assumption to be preserved, as delivered, to show us that even inspired envoys can misunderstand Yehovah’s timing! It is readily understood that the apostles all assumed that the Kingdom of Elohim was very soon to be set up. Yehovah did nothing to alter that assumption. Assumptions are a necessary part of life. We often have to use them until we have more complete knowledge.
The problem comes when we accept our assumptions as being fact. Israel was Yehovah’s firstfruits thru a marriage covenant!
              Jeremiah 2:2-3
2 “Go, and herald within the hearing of Jerusalem, ‘This is what Yehovah says: I remember the kindness of your
youth, your love as a bride, how you followed Me in the wilderness, into a barren land.
3 Israel was dedicated to Yehovah, the first fruits of His harvest, anyone who devoured him became guilty, and
              disaster struck them,’” says Yehovah.

              Jeremiah 31:32
32 It won’t be like the marriage Covenant that I made with their ancestors during the time when I took
them by the hand and led them out of the land of Egypt, since they broke My Covenant, tho I was their Husband, says
              Yehovah.
Pentecost represents the time when the Nations of Israel will again enter the Promised Land! It will be much like the original occupation of the land. Notice that the Feast Days were not to be celebrated until Israel came into the Promised Land. They were not celebrated in the wilderness during the 40 years without faith. Here is one of the many “When you come into the land” statements. In this instance it has to do with the wave sheaf offering that starts the 50 day countdown to Pentecost, but the idea of waiting to enter Israel is the same.
              Leviticus 23:9-11
              9 Then Yehovah told Moses:
10 “Tell the Israelites, “Once you’ve entered the land that I’m giving to you, and harvested its grain, then you must
bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest.
11 He is to wave the sheaf before Yehovah, so that YOU will be accepted. On the day after the Sabbath the priest will
              wave it.
After the Second Exodus, the pioneers who resettle Israel will keep their first Pentecost in the restored Kingdom of Israel! These former slaves will have the opportunity and be given the understanding on the spot, just like their ancient ancestors did when they left Egypt.
Isaiah spoke about the coming day of Israel’s salvation, when He will again “choose” Israel to be His Bride, this time as the Lamb’s wife, in a New [marriage] Covenant!
              Isaiah 14:1
1 Yehovah will have mercy on Jacob, and choose Israel again, and settle them in their own land. Foreigners will join
them and be united with Jacob’s descendants.
              Isaiah 49:6-9
6 He asks, “It is too small of a thing for you to be My servant to reestablish the tribes of Jacob, and to bring back the
Israelites who were ‘spared?’ I’ll make you a light to the nations, so that you can bring My message of deliverance to
the remotest parts of the earth.”
7 This is what Yehovah says, the Redeemer of Israel, and ‘their’ Kadosh One, to the One who man despises, to the One
who the nation abhors, to the Servant of rulers: Kings will see You and rise, and leaders will bow down, because of
Yehovah who is faithful, the Kadosh One of Israel, who has chosen You.
8 This is what Yehovah says: In a favorable  time have I answered You, and in a day of deliverance I have helped You.
I’ll protect You [the Messiah: Barnes] and give You to the people as a covenant [the covenantee], to restore the land,
and to repossess its desolate heritage.
9 You will say to the prisoners, “Come out” and to those who are in darkness, “Show yourselves”! They’ll be My sheep,
grazing along the roads and finding pastures on all the high places that had been bare.
The church is not the Bride! But the Assembly that began on the Day of Pentecost under Moses, and still remains, is the bride. The descendants of the twelve tribes of Israel, when they re-marry Yehovah, will be the Bride at the Marriage Supper!
Yet in the spirit realm, other analogies apply to our brothers still in the flesh.
              Isaiah 62:5
5 Just like a young man marrying a virgin, your sons will marry you [the land of Israel], and like a bridegroom
rejoicing over his bride, that’s how your Elohim will rejoice over you.
Yehovah expects all of mankind to believe that He, our Creator, exists because there is a fantastic creation right in front of us! They are without excuse (Romans 1:20) who do not consider this to be true, even though they might certainly wonder why they have no contact with Him. Logically, mankind should also believe that the Creator had some great reason for creating the universe. Furthermore all of us should rightfully think that humanity is the pinnacle of the Creator’s workmanship, because of our unique minds. We are unmistakably not like the animals!
Just as it is the job of every scientist to prove his assumptions, we should try to prove ours. A scientist calls his assumptions hypotheses, but despite the funny word, it is still his job to do everything he can, to systematically determine the truth. We are to be like that. “Analyze everything and hold tightly onto anything beneficial.” Never fail to believe, acknowledge and act on everything that you perceive to be truth. Even if you are later proven wrong, Yehovah is far more concerned with your lack of cowardice than your perfect knowledge. Yehovah will judge you on your works! He wants us to run the race, not waiting for others to catch up!
When an emergency occurs, such as being lost at sea, assumptions are a necessary survival tactic. An assumption often decides whether you live or die. You have to learn to act in a world without perfect knowledge. Yehovah deliberately adds knowledge, a little at a time, to see if we will continue to respond to Him.
Joel described the time when the rest of Israel will also receive Yehovah’s spirit! Some of us aren’t waiting! A critical look at this prophecy reveals that it is a prophecy for Israel BEFORE the Day of Yehovah (the “Lord”).Panim, in verse 31, is translated as “before” in other versions, but the secondary meaning is “face” as “in the presence” (or during). The NASB translates it as “face” 259 times.
Israel First!
The Day of Yehovah follows immediately on the heals of the Great Tribulation. Yehovah will deal with the rest of the world primarily AFTER Israel’s Great Tribulation.
Remember, it’s the Time of Israel’s Trouble:
              Jeremiah 30:7
7 That day will be terrible! There will never be another like it. It’s the time of Jacob’s [Israel’s] trouble [The Great
Tribulation], but he’ll be saved [liberated] out of it.
The timing of Joel 2:30 is clarified in Matthew:
              Matthew 24:29
29  Immediately after the time of Tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon won’t shed her light and
shooting  stars will fall from the sky, and the inherent power of the skies will be shaken.
The chapter break disrupts the uninterrupted discernment intended for the literal fulfillment of Pentecost:
              Joel 2:28-32
28 AFTERWARD [after the Great Tribulation] I will pour out My spirit on “all flesh”. Your sons and daughters will
prophecy and your old men will dream prophetic dreams, your young men will seeprophetic visions.
29 I’ll even pour out My spirit on servants and handmaids in those days,
30 I’ll show wonderful signs in the sky and on the earth, blood, fire, and columns of smoke.
31 The sun will become dark, and the moon will become blood red in the presence of the great and awesome Day of
              Yehovah coming to pass.
32 And everyone who calls on the name of Yehovah will be rescued, because on Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem,
there will be a way of escape [rootword, refugees], as Yehovah has said, for the survivors who Yehovah has
              invited [called].
[Ignore chapter break.]
3:1 In those days and during the time when I return Judah and Jerusalem to their former state,
2 I’ll gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, and I’ll execute judgment on them
there [not  Armageddon] on behalf of My people, because they’ve scattered My heritage Israel among the
nations and divvied up My land.
Notice that the “all flesh” and the “everyone” is still in reference to the just liberated captives in Jerusalem, and that Yehovah is about to gather “all [the other] nations” for “judgment”!
Returning to Acts 2, we see that Yehovah inspired this chapter to be retained in the Bible for far more than to simply demonstrate that an envoy could be mistaken. Peter quoted a good bit of Scripture from memory, demonstrating that he really had thought a lot about those words prior to that day. Surely he would have asked for Yeshua’s thoughts on that prophecy while he had the opportunity. It’s doubtful that there is much of the Hebrew Scriptures that they had not inquired about, and learned about except for when the prophecies would unfold. Timing information, including Yeshua’s role, was not made available. Daniel also asked: “When”.
Daniel 12:6 One asked the man dressed in linen, who was hovering above the river water, “How long will it be until
              the end of these miracles?”
Daniel 12:8 … what will be the end result of these miracles?”
Many times though, assumptions are made because we simply don’t think to ask the right questions! We learn best by asking the right questions!
Peter knew that a day was coming when Yehovah would pour out His spirit on “all flesh”. Peter knew that Israel’s young people would see visions and prophecy. Peter also knew that:
Acts 2:20 The sun will be darkened and the moon ‘will become’ blood red before the great and awesome Day of YHVH
              arrives.
There really is coming a day when Yehovah will pour out His spirit on “all flesh”, and that day will only happen once. This amazing prophecy, that Peter believed was for his time, will be fulfilled just prior to The Day of Yehovah! But Peter was way too optimistic about the timing of the prophetic significance of Pentecost.
The Day of Trumpets represents the Day of Yehovah, the very end of this age. Surely Peter had known about the commonly believed seven thousand year plan—Yehovah’s seven millennium long plan for humanity, with three millennial “days” left to go at that time. Yet he had set that aside, thinking that it was wrong.
Peter, knowing that Pentecost is the Feast Day that comes before Trumpets, “before the … Day of Yehovah”, expected that things were going to get bad quickly.
The Marriage Supper
Take a look at a bit more of the prophecy that Peter was quoting from.

              Joel 2:15-17
15 Blow the shofar in Zion, announce the fast, summon the Festival Assembly.
16 Gather the people. Announce an assembly. Gather the elders. Gather the children, even the nursing babies. The
bridegroom should leave his chamber, and the bride her chuppah.
17 The priests who serve Yehovah cry between the porch and the altar. They’re saying, “Spare Your people,” O
Yehovah, and don’t allow Your heritage to be scorned by the enemy, ridiculed by foreigners. Why should the
nations ask, “Where is their Elohim?”
This allusion to a marriage that is not quite ready to happen is in reference to the many other Scriptures that describe Yehovah’s marriage to Israel at the time of this dramatic transition from slavery to redemption. While Peter applied these events to Pentecost, the context also seemingly includes the Day of Atonements of the same year, just prior to the Day of Yehovah. The previous chapter also describes fasting, yet it may not be a voluntary Day of Atonement fast, because the food supplies are all destroyed (Joel 1:16-20). So it alternatively could be a fast on Pentecost, a very unusual turn of events.
              Hosea 2:15-21
15 I’ll give her back her vineyards beginning there, and the valley of Achor [trouble] as a doorway of hope. She’ll
respond there, as in the days of her youth, just like when she came out of the land of Egypt.
16 Yehovah says: When that day comes, you’ll call Me Husband [Ishi] and you’ll never again call Me ‘Lord’ [Baali].
17 I’ll remove the names of the Baals from your mouths, and you will never mention them again.
18 At that time I’ll make a covenant with all the wild animals of the plains, and the birds of the sky, and the animals
that move around on the ground. I’ll abolish bows and swords, and warfare from the earth, so that everyone can rest
              peacefully.
19 I’ll be betrothed to you forever. Yes, you’ll be betrothed to Me in righteousness and in justice, in unfailing love and
              compassion.
20 I’ll be faithful to you, and you’ll finallyknow Yehovah intimately.
21 When that day comes, I’ll respond, says Yehovah, I’ll respond to the heavens, and they’ll respond to the earth,
What spiritual inferences can be gathered from this original Pentecost instruction? The meaning of this Day is inseparable from the HARVEST. Why two loaves? The symbolism is still quite relevant.
              Leviticus 23:15-22
15 From the day following the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the wave sheaf offering, you’ll count off
              seven complete Sabbaths.
16 You’ll count fifty days, to the day following the seventh Sabbath. Then you’ll present a fresh grain offering to
              Yehovah.
17 Bring from your homes two loaves of bread, made of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour, for a wave offering.
Bake them with leavening, as the first harvest [first fruits] for Yehovah.
18 Present with the bread seven perfectly sound one-year-old lambs, one young bull, and two rams as burnt offering
to Yehovah, along with their grain offering, and their liquid offerings. They will be ze’bakim [sacrifices], a soothing
              aroma to Yehovah.
19 Then offer one buck goat from the flock as a sin offering, and two one-year-old lambs as a ze’bak, a peace offering.
20 The priest will then wave them, along with the bread of the first crops, as a wave offering before Yehovah, with
the two lambs. They’ll be kadosh to Yehovah for the priests.
21 That same day will be proclaimed a kadosh public assembly for you, you won’t do your usual labor. This is an
everlasting statute, wherever you are staying, thruout your generations.
22 When you harvest the crops of your land don’t harvest the corners of your field, or glean what was missed during
the harvest, you’ll leave that for the poor and for foreigners. I am Yehovah your Elohim.
Both Yeshua and Israel are firstfruits! A firstfruit is essentially the first crop or the firstborn. Firstfruits on an actual tree are the first to ripen, better shaped, and more flavorful. The emphasis is on being called first and maturing first! Firstfruit can mean an actual fruit but it also refers to anything “first in place, time, order or rank” —Strong’s . However, this particular firstfruit is specifically in reference to the harvest of wheat.
              Exodus 34:22
22 You must celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruit of the wheat harvest, and the Harvest Feast annually at
the end of the agricultural cycle
.
Yeshua was the single first of the firstfruits. But the ancient symbolism of waving a sheaf of barley toward the heavens before Yehovah represents YOU being accepted, not Yeshua (since He was never unaccepted), by Yehovah in the heavens: We are these firstfruits, made “acceptable” by the Lamb without any defects! Notice:

              Leviticus 23:10-12
10 “Tell the Israelites, “Once you’ve entered the land that I’m giving to you, and harvested its grain, then you
must bring a [single] sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.
11 He is to wave the sheaf before Yehovah, so that YOU will be accepted. On the day after the Sabbath the priest will
              wave it.
12 On the same day you wave the sheaf, you must offer a year old male lamb without any defects as a burnt zebak to
              Yehovah.
The wheat harvest follows the barley harvest. Yeshua spoke of a second harvest—more Israelites being harvested! In fact He spoke of a wheat harvest three times, each time referring to the harvest of Israel into the Elohim’s Kingdom, as well as the associated Judgment Day! For those who have eyes to see—this is a terrific reason to celebrate Pentecost—to celebrate the day we enter the Kingdom of Aloha!
Here are the three wheat analogies. Avoid the baptism in fire!

              Matthew 3:11-12
11 I immerse you in water for a changed mind, but the One coming after me is more powerful than I am. I’m not even
worthy to carry His sandals. He’ll immerse [baptize] you in the kadosh spirit and in fire*.
12 His winnowing shovel is in His hand, and He’ll completely empty His threshing floor, gathering the wheat into His
granary. But He’ll completely burn up the chaff with inextinguishable fire.
[*] I suspect that this should read “or in fire” rather than “and with fire” because of the dichotomy of the very next verse. It refers to “burn with unquenchable fire”. So it seems to mean that this fire is one you would want to avoid! You only get “one baptism” (Ephesians 4:5). Some get the “water” and some get the “fire”. The Greek says “and”, but I don’t have enough lexical Aramaic reference material to make a case.
              Matthew 13:24-30
24 He presented another analogy to them, “The Kingdom of the Heavens can be compared to a man who sowed good
              seed in his field.
25 While everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed tares in the wheat field, and then left.
26 As the grain began to mature the tares became noticeable.
27 The householder’s servants came and asked him, ‘Master, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did these
              tares come from’.
28 He told them, ‘An enemy did this’. The servants asked him, ‘Should we go and pull them out?”
29 He replied, ‘No, because if you pull out the tares, you’ll also uproot the wheat.
30 They must both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I’ll tell the harvesters to gather the tares out
first, and tie them in bundles to be burned, and then bring the wheat into my granary.’”

              John 12:23-31
23 Yeshua replied, “The time has come for the Human Son to enter His splendor.
24 I tell you with absolute certainty that unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains ‘just one
seed’, but if it dies it produces many seeds…
31 The world is being judged right now. Now the ruler of this world will be thrown out.
There is coming a time when the voice of a Messenger will be heard and understood by every person of every language. You guessed it; this happens during the Day of Yehovah, or “the hour of His judgment”. Another way to nail down the timing is that: “Babylon is fallen, is fallen”. Once Satan’s governments are shattered, then Yehovah will initiate “His judgment”. The timing is precise; “the everlasting evangel” (good news) is the sure message. The language phenomenon at that time may be the same as that of the historic Pentecost of 31 AD.
              Revelation 14:6-8
6 Then I saw another Messenger flying thru the sky, who with blood had the everlasting Good News to proclaim to
everyone living on earth—every nation, tribe, language and people.
7 He said with a loud voice, “Worship YHVH and praise Him, because His Day of Judgment has come. Worship the One
who made the skies and the earth, the sea and springs of water.”
8 Then another Messenger, a second one, followed him and said, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the Great! She has made
every nation drink the wine of the rage of her prostitution.”
Peter was prepared for the miracles of Pentecost, are you? Perhaps a literal new language will be downloaded into everyone’s brain as a sign at that very time. On that Pentecost, everyone will undoubtedly be stone sober!
After reviewing this chapter in May of 2006, I decided that further elaboration was needed to explain why the envoys were under the impression that the end of the age was upon them. Here is that elaboration:
              1 Peter 4:7
7 The end state of everything approaches, so be sound minded and alert in your prayers.
Yeshua’s murder, on Passover, followed by His surprising resurrection and His public departure to heaven just ten days prior to Pentecost, really had His followers stirred up. But then on Pentecost a limited in scope (i.e. not on all of Israel) but astonishing outpouring of the kadosh spirit put a whole new perspective into the minds of the disciples. Certainly some of the most momentous times in history were taking place then. In the minds of those present on that amazing day of Pentecost, these things were definitely signaling the arrival of the Everlasting Kingdom. Indeed, why would a person think that the signs and miracles would end?
Yet, in later decades, their entire concept of Scriptural prophecy came crashing down around them. Initially, as Peter explained on Pentecost of 31 AD, they were certain that that year’s Feast Days would initiate the prophecies concerning the Everlasting Kingdom. Why would they doubt that the events portrayed in the Feast Days would not continue to play out that very year. Passover saw fulfillment, and then seemingly Pentecost—why not the Day of Yehovah on the Feast of Trumpets? Yet by the fall Feast days, they realized that the prophetic momentum had ceased!
So they began to focus on Yeshua’s comments about “this generation”.
              Matthew 12:42
42 The Queen of the South will be aroused from her sleep on Judgment Day with these people and condemn it,
because she came from a remote part of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now Someone superior to
              Solomon is here.
In the Olivet prophecy, Yeshua spoke about what they believed that He meant the last generation—calling it “this generation.”
              Matthew 24:34
34 It is certain that the Israelite nation [Aramaic Sharebtha: tribe, people, nation] will not disappear before all these
              things have taken place.
              Luke 11:32
32 The men of Nineveh will stand up on Judgment Day with this nation and condemn it, because they amended their
ways at the heralding of Jonah, and Someone superior to Jonah is here.
Here is another example of the Greek word genea referring to a nation, rather than a generation, just like it does in Aramaic:
              Luke 11:51
51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was murdered between the Temple and the altar’. Yes, I tell
you, ‘It will be blamed on this nation’.
They concluded that the Kingdom would come to “we who are alive”.
Yet, as it turned out, it was another use of the term translated as “generation” when what Yeshua meant was “nation”! While they most certainly knew that their term “generation/nation” primarily refers to a race of people, or a family, they nevertheless accepted the most optimistic use of the term, equating it to their single generation. But Judgment Day did not occur in their “generation”, and the “queen of the South” hasn’t risen yet.
Finally they figured out that their hopes for the Kingdom being established in their lifetimes was quite presumptuous, and they most likely resumed their belief in the prevailing millennial week/7,000 year concept.

Meanwhile, up in the clouds…
Then, we who are still alive, having survived, will … meet our Master in the expanse.
There could not be a more affirmative statement that the envoys (apostles) thought that their generation would live to see the return of Yeshua.
              1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
15 We declare this to you by the Word of YHVH’s [Yehovah’s] own authority, that we who survive and are alive when
our Master comes, will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep[into the Kingdom].
16 Our Master will ‘personally’ come down from Heaven with a mandate, and with a voice like the chief Messenger
and with YHVH’s shofar, and the dead who ‘belong to’ the Messiah will rise first
17 Then, we who are still alive, having survived, will be carried away together with them into the clouds to meet our
Master in the expanse. And we will be with our Master forever.
The envoys continued to ask Yeshua when He was going to restore the Kingdom to Israel but He wouldn’t tell them:
              Acts 1:6-8
6 When they assembled, they asked Him, “Master, are You about to restore the Kingdom of Israel to its former state”?
7 He replied, “It isn’t for you, to know the time remaining or the fixed dates that Yehovah [Jehovah] has established
by His own executive authority. 8 yet when the kadosh spirit descends on you [on Pentecost], you’ll receive power,
and you’ll be My witnesses in Jerusalem, thruout Judea and Samaria, and in the remotest parts of the earth”,
There was very good reason for the disciples to ask if Yeshua was going to restore the Kingdom of Israel. They had come to believe that He was the Messiah and were longing for Him to bring about the political changes described in the entire 49th chapter of Isaiah:
              Isaiah 49:5-6
5 And now Yehovah says—the One who formed Me in the womb to be His servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so
that Israel could be regathered to Him (because I am honored in the sight of Yehovah, and My Elohim has become My
              strength),
6 He asks, “It is not enough for you to be My Servant [Yeshua] to reestablish the tribes of Jacob, and to bring back the
Israelites who were ‘spared?’ I’ll make You a light to the nations, so that you can bring My message of deliverance to
the remotest parts of the earth.”
It was simply inconceivable to them for the Messiah to come, but then not fulfill all of the Messianic promises in their generation. (For that matter, John the Immerser, the Elijah to come of Matthew 11:13-14, didn’t fulfill much of his mission either, as prophesied in Malachi 4:5-6
There was another extremely compelling reason that the envoys expected that they would see the Kingdom restored. They knew for certain, in hindsight, that the mysterious seventy “weeks” prophecy of Daniel 9 was a timetable for their time.
              Daniel 9:26
26 After the sixty-two weeks the Anointed One [Messiah] will be cut off ¹, and will have nothing², and the people of the
comingleader will destroy the city and the Temple, and its end will be with a flood, and all the way to the end there
              will bewar, desolation is determined.
[1] The wording Messiah being ‘cut off’ or killed (key words: “cut, or make a covenant”) is the word used in Hebrew
for cutting or making a covenant. The Messiah’s death made the New Covenant that Jeremiah the Prophet wrote
              about in Jeremiah 31 possible.
[2There is a Talmudic curse on anyone (like me) who dares to inquire into this Messianic prophecy. No wonder the
book of Daniel is not even counted among the prophetic Books of the Jewish Tanak! It’s been relocated to the
              writings section.
Following Yeshua’s being “cut off”, they may have thought that the seven year run of the Beast would follow on the heels of the crucifixion:

              Daniel 9:27
27 He [the desolator] will make a firm contract [covenant] with many for one period of seven. Then in the middle of
the period of seven he’ll stop the ze’bakim [sacrifices] and the offerings. The desolator will bring loathsome things
[or idols] thru a wing of the Temple [see JFB commentary], until the predeterminedend time, when wrath will be
              poured out on the awestruck.
Daniel elaborated more on the Abominator who would cause the zebachim to cease in chapter 11.
              Daniel 11:30-31
30 Ships from Kittim will come against him, he will be discouraged and turn back, venting his anger against the kadosh
covenant, and take action, he’ll even return, and have an understanding with those who abandon the kadosh covenant
31 Armed forces will rise up, and they’ll defile the Temple refuge, and put a stop to the daily burnt zebakim, and
they’ll set up an appalling detestable idol [KJV, abomination of desolation].
Balaam’s Prophecy
There is another little considered prophecy about the Messiah that would have had a tremendous impact upon anyone living at that time who understood it. It is known as Balaam’s prophecy:
              Numbers 24:17-23
17 I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will emerge from Israel
[Yeshua], and crush thru the forehead of Moab, and destroy all the sons of buttocks.
18 Edom will become your possession. Seir, his enemy, will also be a possession, while Israel is valiant.
19 Someone from Jacob will gain dominion, and destroy the survivors of the city.
20 He looked at Amalek, and stated a proverb, “Amalek was the first of the nations, but in the end he will be
              destroyed forever.
21 He looked at the Kenite, and stated another proverb, “Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is built into acliff.
22 But Kain will be wasted, when Asshur carries you away captive.”
23 He told another proverb: “Oye, who will live when Elohim does this?
Father inspired Balaam’s prophecy. It shows that Father can even inspire an ass. (Numbers 22:28) This prophecy associates Yeshua’s birth with a Star and also explains in more detail that the Star would eventually destroy the wicked kingdoms. It will be such a traumatic time that it’s no wonder that Balaam said “Oye, who will live when Elohim does this?” Indeed uncountable people will die then.
There is a very credible account of how the Magi located Yeshua entitled When They Saw the Star, by Henry M. Morris. No other explanation I’ve seen even comes close to the one given here. Certainly the envoys (apostles) would have been aware of the virgin birth and the signs associated with His birth, such as the star. It took some time but they came around:
John 6:69 We have believed and known for certain that you are the Messiah, the Son of the living Aloha[God]”
Between the signs of His birth and their typically late understanding that came with His death, as foretold in the (Hebrew) Scriptures, much of what they witnessed with their own eyes, the envoys would have staked their lives on their belief that all of prophecy was about to be fulfilled by their Messiah. Yet time and circumstances proved them wrong. However they were still unquestionably certain that the Messiah had come to their “generation”.
Jewish Expectations
All of the Jews of that time also believed that Daniel’s prophecy was for their own time. In fact Josephus in his Book Wars of the Jews, chapter 6, said that the “oracle” was driving them to “madness”:
“… while at the same time they had it written in their sacred oracles [Daniel 9], ‘That then should their city be taken,
as well as their holy house, when once their temple should become four-square.’ But now, what did the most elevate
them in undertaking this war, was an ambiguous oracle that was also found in their sacred writings, how,’ about that
time, one from their country should become governor of the habitable earth.’ The Jews took this prediction to belong
to themselves in particular, and many of the wise men were thereby deceived in their determination ….
However, it is not possible for men to avoid fate, although they see it beforehand. But these men interpreted some
of these signals according to their own pleasure, and some of them they utterly despised, until their madness was
demonstrated, both by the taking of their city and their own destruction.”
The Jewish culture was saturated with imminent Messianic expectations.
Here is an example of the thought of the day from The Testament of Judah:
“24. And after these things shall a Star arise to you”… from Jacob in peace, and a Man shall rise from my seed, like the
Sun of righteousness, walking with the sons of men in meekness and righteousness, and no sin shall be found in
Him. And the heavens shall be opened above Him, to shed forth the blessing of the Spirit from the Holy Father; and He
shall shed forth a spirit of grace upon you, and ye shall be unto Him sons in truth, and ye shall walk in His
commandments, the first and the last. This is the Branch of God Most High, and this the Well-spring unto life for all
flesh. Then shall the sceptre of my kingdom shine forth, and from your root shall arise a stem; and in it shall arise a
rod of righteousness to the Gentiles, to judge and to save all that call upon the Lord.”
(The Testament of Judah is an apocryphal document supposedly comprising the dying commands of the twelve sons of Jacob. “The testaments were written in Hebrew in the later years of John Hyrcanus, in all probability after his final victory over the Syrian power and before his breach with the Pharisees, in other words, between 109 BC and 106 BC”.)
The Roman’s were also aware of Daniel’s prophecy:
“There had spread over all the Orient an old and established belief, that it was fated at that time for men coming from
Judaea to rule the world. This prediction, referring to the emperor of Rome [from the Roman perspective], as
afterward appeared from the event, the people of Judaea took to themselves; accordingly they revolted and after
killing their governor, they routed the consular ruler of Syria as well, when he came to the rescue, and took one of his
eagles. Since to put down this rebellion required a considerable army with a leader of no little enterprise, yet one to
whom so great power could be entrusted without risk, was chosen for the task”.(Vespasian)
Emperor Tacitus also said that:
“The majority of the Jewish people were very impressed with the belief that it was contained in ancient writings of
the priests that it would come to pass that at that very time, the East would renew its strength and they that should
go forth from Judaea should be rulers of the world”. (Tacitus, History, v. 13).
And Emperor Nero was advised by at least one astrologer to move his capital city to Jerusalem because it is
prophesied to become the capital of the world —Suetonius, Nero, 40
In ‘The Mysterious Seventy “Weeks” Prophecy of Daniel’, I elaborated on why the Everlasting Kingdom was not set up in 31 AD. Under different circumstances I believe that it could have been set up then. What circumstances? I simply believe that Father didn’t predestine or cause the Messiah to be rejected and murdered by His own people. That is an issue of free moral agency that was built into the plan. This appears to explain why even Yeshua did not know for certain, until the last minute, whether or not He would be spared from being the ultimate Passover Lamb when it is recorded that:
              Mark 14:35-36
35 He went on a little farther, and fell to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour could pass from Him.
36 He said, “Father, My Father! You can do anything. Cause this cup to pass from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours.”
The root word for “possible” is “dunamai”, Strong’s. It means “to be able, have power whether by virtue of one’s own ability and resources, or of a state of mind, or through favourable circumstances, or by permission of law or custom”.
It is simply no wonder that so many Jewish people thought that the Seventy Weeks prophecy would be fulfilled immediately. When the prophecy wasn’t fulfilled, though it could have been, the Jews began to question their interpretation of Daniel, and came up with various alternative explanations. This accounts for Josephus’ statement about “an ambiguous oracle”.
So after Pentecost the envoys continued to state that the arrival of the Kingdom of Father was imminent until a few years prior to the fall of Jerusalem. But as the years went by and as they saw that the geopolitical trends were not becoming conducive to fulfilling the prophecies, Peter and Paul apparently fell back on the millennial week concept. They began to teach that the
Everlasting Kingdom was off in the future!
Notice this change in their thinking. Here is what they said when they thought that the Great Tribulation was imminent. They cautioned:
              1 Corinthians 7:25-31
25 Concerning virginity, I have no instruction from YHVH, but I’ll give my counsel as a man who has obtained mercy
              from YHVH and is trustworthy.
26 I think it is best, because of the impendingdistress, for a person to remain as they are.
27 Are you bound to your wife? Don’t try to be divorced. Are you divorced from a wife? Don’t seek a wife.
28 If you marry, you don’t sin. And if a marriageable woman is given in marriage to a husband, she isn’t sinning. But
those in these circumstances will suffer physical tribulation [1b], and I would spare you.
29 Friends, I tell you that time is running out, so those who have wives should live as if they had none,
30 and those who are mourning as if they weren’t mourning, and those who celebrate as if they weren’t celebrating,
and those who buy as if they hadn’t bought,
31 and those preoccupied with this world, not becoming dependent on it, because the sensations of this world are
              disappearing.
[1b] Some of the advice of the next few chapters was given strictly because the persecution of the Great Tribulation was thought to be “imminent” as mentioned here and in 10:11, and persecution had certainly begun. But later, after the envoys realized that they were mistaken about the timing, they reversed their advice.
Once they realized that the end of the age was not to be in their time, their judgment was the exact opposite:

              1 Timothy 5:14
14 I would like to see the younger women get married and have children, and manage their homes, rather than allow
the adversary any opportunity to ridicule them.
There was still the belief that the Old Covenant was nearly ready to vanish away, and that the “New Covenant”with Judah and Israel was about to replace the old one:
              Hebrews 8:13
13 When He [Yeshua] mentioned the New Covenant, He was ‘declaring’ that the first one was obsolete and about to
be repealed, and what was obsolete and failing, will soon disappear.
The Greek word for “about” above is “eggus”. When it refers to time it means “imminent”.
A New Covenant for New Israel
The Old Covenant certainly took a hiatus with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD. Yet the New Covenant—that will be the Constitution of the restored Kingdom of Israel—was not implemented when it was anticipated:
              Hebrews 8:10-12
10 But this is the covenant that I’ll make with the household of Israel after that time, says YHVH, I’ll put My Torah [law]
in their minds—inscribing it on their innermost being. I’ll be their Aloha and they’ll be My people.
11 No one [in Israel] will teach doctrine to their fellow citizens [evangelize] or ask a brother, “Do you know YHVH”
[witness to anyone], because they’ll all know Me, from the youngest of them to the oldest [1],
12 because I’ll be merciful regarding their unrighteousness and I’ll totally forget theirprior sins.”
[1] People love to force fit one condition of Israel’s New Covenant into the here and now, citing verse 33 about the “new heart” (mind), pretending that at least this one verse from Jeremiah 31 has been fulfilled—without ever considering the many other conditions of the New Covenant, such as quoted in verse 11 above. But all of the fine print of the New Covenant is detailed in Jeremiah chapters 30-31. All other references to it relate to this declaration.
Jeremiah foretold the time when Father WILL REMEMBER the sins of Israel and that He would bring war, famine and disease. It is the survivors of the Tribulation who will have their sins forgiven!
              Jeremiah 14:7-12
7 Though our wickedness testifies against us, do something for Your name’s sake. Yehovah, because we have
turned back repeatedly, we have sinned against You.
8 You are the hope of Israel, itsDeliverer in the time of trouble, why should You be like a foreigner in the land, or like
a traveling man only staying for a night?
9 Why should you be like a man taken by surprise, like a mighty warrior unable to save? Yehovah You are among us,
and we’re called by Your name, don’t leave us.
10 This is what Yehovah says to these people, “You loved to wander, you haven’t restrained your feet, so I, Yehovah
don’t accept you, now I’ll remember your wickedness, and punish your sins.
11 Yehovah told me, “Don’t pray for the welfare of these people.
12 When they fast, I won’t listen to their cry, and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I won’t accept
them, but I’ll consume them by the sword, and by famine, and by disease.
Hosea also indicated that there would not be a free ride. It will definitely be a while before Father will “never again remember their sins.”—an indispensable prerequisite of the New Covenant.
              Hosea 9:7-9
7 The days of accountability have come. The days of compensation have come. Israel will know that their “prophets”
are fools, and their ‘inspirational men’ are insane, because of the vast number of your sins, and the great hatred.
8 Ephraim was a watchman for my Elohim, a prophet. Yet a fowler’s snare awaits his every path, and hostility in the
              house of his Elohim.
9 They’ve deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah. He’ll remember their wickedness. He’ll punish them
              for their sins.
Yet even Moses prophesied that “in the latter days”, during a time of Great Tribulation those seeking Father with all their mind and with all their being would receive mercy, because Father will renew His Covenant with them.
              Deuteronomy 4:29-31
29But from there you’ll seek Yehovah your Elohim, and you’ll find Him, when you search for Him with all your mind
              and with all your being.
30 When you’re in tribulation, and all these things have happened to you, at the end of the ‘age’, you’ll return to
Yehovah your Elohim, and listen to what He says.
31 Yehovah your Elohim is a compassionate Elohim, He won’t abandon you, or destroy you, or forget the covenant
with your ancestors that He swore to them.
Here is the current condition of Israel:
              Joshua 24:19-20
19 Joshua told the people, “You can’t serve Yehovah, because He is a kadosh Elohim. He is a jealous Elohim. He won’t
forgive your rebellion or your sins.
20 If you forsake Yehovah, and serve foreign gods, then He’ll turn against you, and harm you, and exterminate you,
after He has been so good to you.”
The “New Covenant” is by no means fulfilled by individuals being converted at this time. Spiritual conversion simply does not fulfill the detailed prophecy concerning the New Covenant that is explained in painstaking detail in all of Jeremiah 31.
The First 7,000 Year “WEEK”
There are two perspectives that I have encountered regarding “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years”. Either people are aware of the ancient 6,000 year deadline (that is reaching critical mass right now) or else they think that Father inspired His envoys to think that time is totally irrelevant! Those who understand the permanence of the Sabbath generally understand the plan. This often goes over the head of those who believe that the Sabbath was done away with. Was it?
              Hebrews 4:9-10
9 So it is established that the people of YHVH are to celebrate the Sabbath.
10 Anyone who entered His rest [in the wilderness], rested from their own undertakings [works], as YHVH did from
              His.
              Isaiah 66:22-23
22 As the New Heavens and the New Earth that I’ll make will endure in My presence”, declares Yehovah, “So will your
descendants and your name will also endure.
23 In the future, from one new moon to the next new moon, and from one Sabbath to the next Sabbath, all of
humanity will come to worship before Me”, declares Yehovah.
Peter did need to mention that Father hadn’t delayed His coming! Some were giving up. But by now Peter was referring to the last days as futuristic. He said that when the last days came that the skeptics would denounce the faithful. Listeners of his day readily understood what Peter meant about the day/millennia statement. He didn’t need to elaborate. It was only for a while that they thought that Father would cut short His 7,000 year long plan—the plan that they had been taught from childhood.
              2 Peter 3:3-9
3 As you know, skeptics will come in the latter days mocking the truth, only governed by their own evil desires,
4 asking, “‘What happened to’ the promise of His coming? Ever since our ancestors fell asleep, everything remains
just like it was from the beginning of creation.”
5 They deliberately ignore that the Heavens have existed since antiquity, and that the continents rose up from the
water, and are sustained by water, by the Word of Aloha,
6 and that by means of this same water, the previous world was covered againand destroyed.
7 The Heavens and the earth that now exist are preserved by His Word, and awaiting the fire of Judgment Day, and
              the destruction of the wicked.
8 But dear Friends, don’t forget this one thing: A day to YHVH is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a
              day.
9 YHVH won’t delay in keeping His promises, as some leaders delay theirs. No, He is being patient for your sake,
because He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed, but that everyone should have a change of mind.
There is a lot of history concerning the knowledge of the 7,000 Year Plan. The article linked here quotes many writers who were aware of the concept centuries and even millennia ago. The commentary of the second half is good too.
I looked up online one of the quotes from the above link and added a bit of context. This quote is from Irenaeus (150 AD.) who was taught by Polycarp, who was taught by John. I do suspect that translators—the very heretics he was blasting, altered some of the things attributed to Irenaeus!
3.” For in as many days as this world was made, in so many thousand years shall it be concluded. And for this reason
the Scripture says: “Thus the heaven and the earth were finished, and all their adornment. And God brought to a
conclusion upon the sixth day the works that He had made; and God rested upon the seventh day from all His works.”
4 “And he shall order an image of the beast to be made, and he shall give breath to the image, so that the image shall
speak; and he shall cause those to be slain who will not adore it.” He says also: “And he will cause a mark [to be put] in
the forehead and in the right hand, that no one may be able to buy or sell, unless he who has the mark of the name of
the beast or the number of his name; and the number is six hundred and sixty-six,”
5 that is, six times a hundred, six times ten, and six units. [He gives this] as a summing up of the whole of that
apostasy which ‘has’ [will have] taken place during six thousand years.
              (6) This is an account of the things formerly created, as also it is a prophecy of what is to come. For the day of the
              Lord is as a thousand years;
              (7) and in six days created things were completed: it is evident, therefore, that they will come to an end at the sixth
thousand year. —IRENAEUS AGAINST HERESIES BOOK 5.
Above we have a clear explanation from an early source that the kadishea (saints) understood the time frame of prophecy. I don’t have a Greek copy of Irenaeus’ book, but I strongly suspect that the “end” spoken of is the word “telos”, and that the intent of the word is: “the last in any succession or series” or “that by which a thing is finished, its close, issue” or “the end to which all things relate, the aim, purpose”. Another place where “telos” is poorly rendered is in Romans:
              Romans 10:4
4 For Christ is the ‘end’ [aim] of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. [KJV]
Yeshua was the very aim and purpose of the Torah (Law).
              Romans 3:31
31 Then do we abolish the Torah by faith? Absolutely not. On the contrary, we uphold or sustain the authority of the
              Torah.
No Need to be Overtaken as by a Thief in the Night
Most people I talk to expect that Yeshua will return to them like a thief in the night—and I believe them, but I do not plan on being surprised! There are simply too many specific warnings to have an excuse!
              1 Thessalonians 5:1-6
1 But Friends, concerning the time periods and the appointed times of crisis, it is unnecessary for me to write to you,
2 because you know for certain that the Day of YHVH will come like a thieving false “minister” in the time of moral
              stupidity and darkness. [1]
3 When people are saying, “Peace and tranquility”, then suddenly destruction will overtake them like the labor pains
on a pregnant woman, and they won’t escape.
4 But you, Friends, aren’t in darkness. That Day won’t catch you off guard like a thieving false “minister”,
5 because you are all sons of the light, and sons of the day, you aren’t sons of the night or sons of darkness.
6 So let’s not sleep like everyone else does, but let’s stay awake and be sober.
[1] or “like a thief in the night”
Father also warned the end time Sardis Assembly to repent:
              Revelation 3:3
3 Remember the way you received and heard, and obey those teachings and make amends. If you don’t wake up, I
WILL COME TO YOU like a thieving false ‘minister’ and you won’t know which annual time [1] I’ll come to you.
[1] While this word can be translated as simply “day” or “hour”, the first meaning of hora is “a certain definite time or season fixed by natural law and returning with the revolving year.” This is how the Scriptural calendar, anchored by the spring barley harvest and visible new moons is determined. Most of the important historical events (such as Passover and Pentecost of 31 AD) have occurred on these “annual times”, just as the prophetic events will occur on Israel’s 7 Apocalyptic Days!
Pay Attention!
So we are sternly warned to “pay attention”. Since we are to be watching for the end time events, here is a big one to watch for, and it is apparently television being implied.
              Matthew 24:15-16
15 When you see the unclean sign of the idolatrous abomination of desolation mentioned by the prophet Daniel,
standing in the Kadosh [holy] Place—the reader must understand—
16 then those of you who are in Judea should escape to the mountain/s [1]
[1] This is reminiscent of Matthew 28:16.
Don’t let anyone tell you that the “kadosh (holy) Place” is the “church”, because there are a couple of dozen references to it being the temple in Jerusalem. Perhaps the abomination will take place under the very wings of the cherubim that will be inside that end time Third Temple. That is where the ark used to be kept!
              1 Kings 8:6
6 The priests brought Yehovah’s ark of the covenant to the most Kadosh Place, into the innermost room of the
Temple, under the wings of the cherubim.
I expect for the ark of the covenant to come out of hiding and be revered again, at least until the Old Covenant is really about to be repealed”, and is actually replaced with the New Covenant.
If you aren’t watching prophecy now, at least watch out while the third temple is being rebuilt. Maybe even be there!
Watch for that!
So the envoys continued to state that Yeshua’s “second coming” was imminent until a few years prior to the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. So even Yeshua’s very envoys were mistaken about prophetic chronology!
The “New Covenant” is by no means fulfilled by individuals being converted at this time. Spiritual conversion simply does not fulfill the detailed prophecy concerning the New Covenant that is explained in painstaking detail thruout all of Jeremiah 30-31. In fact the entire book of Jeremiah concerns the need for the New Covenant. The dire prophecies began to be written “in the fourth year of Jehoiakim’s reign in 605 B.C. (see 36:1-2) … and was completed sometime AFTER the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BC.” —NKJV Nelson Study Bible. Ancient Israel ceased to exist, yet Jeremiah kept on prophesying about it. So while the prophecies applied to ancient Judah, they also apply to all 12 tribes of Israel (Jeremiah 31:31) and Jerusalem in the end time. The surviving Israelites who come out of the Great Tribulation will live under the New Covenant!
