MESSIAH’S HIDDEN GOSPEL

James Tissot (1836-1902)

Millions of Christians say they believe in the Gospel of ‘Jesus Christ’, (Yeshua the Messiah) and yet, when asked what the Scriptures call Gospel, they don’t know how to respond. This is surprising, unprecedented, and even tragic.

MILLIONS OF BELIEVERS DO NOT KNOW
WHAT THE GOSPEL OF YESHUA IS

In the Holy Scriptures, the word ‘Gospel’ (Hebrew: «besorah»: good news/glad tidings) appears as something commonly used among the faithful believers of the first century. The apostles took it upon themselves to make it known to the Jews, and later, the non-Jews would hear of it as well. They made every effort to fulfil the great commission left by Yeshua the Messiah before he ascended to heaven, which said:

Mark 16:15-16 [The Scriptures 2009 - TS 2009)]
15 . . . Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to every creature.
16 He who has believed and has been immersed, shall be saved, but he who has not believed shall be condemned.
(Words of Yeshua in purple)

If millions of Christians say they have believed in the ‘Gospel of the Messiah’ without knowing what it consists of: What is the Gospel of the Messiah? Can it be proved with the Scriptures? Opinions on matters of faith are not secure if they are not based on the Scriptures. We must understand this very well, for we may end up straying from the truth that saves:

Romans 1:16 [TS 2009]
For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Messiah, for it is the power of Elohim for deliverance to everyone who believes, to the Yehudi first and also to the Greek.

A MUTILATED GOSPEL
Another group of Christians, a bit more knowledgeable, holds that the gospel is clearly defined in:

1 Corinthians 15:1-8 [Paraphrased]
Moreover, I declare to you, brothers, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, and in which you stand... for I delivered to you first of all that which I also received:" That the Messiah died for our sins, according to the Scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose on the third day according to the Scriptures; and that he appeared to Kepha (Peter), and then to the twelve. Then he appeared to five hundred brothers... then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles; and last, as to one untimely born, he appeared to me.

Here is an interesting Pauline definition of what the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah is: This is that the Messiah died for our sins, was buried, and rose gloriously on the third day, being seen by many witnesses. Yes, this is part of the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah, for not only did he announce his death for the redemption of sinners, and his glorious resurrection, but also something more before that. At this point, many Christians get lost in the ethereal.

THE COMPLETE GOSPEL
The clear definition of the true Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah that millions still ignore, but that we now have the privilege of knowing. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Firstly, we must begin by saying that Yeshua did not start his preaching by announcing his death, burial, and resurrection on the third day. Let’s look at the account of the disciple

Mark 1:1, 14-15 [TS 2009]

1 The beginning of the good news of Yahshua Messiah, the Son of YAHWEH . . .
. . .
14 And after John was delivered up, Yahshua came into Galilee proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of YAHWEH,
15 And he said, The time is complete and the Kingdom of YAHWEH has arrived. Repent and believe in the good news.
THE BEGINNING OF THE GOSPEL OF YESHUA
IS THE KINGDOM OF YAHWEH

Note that the beginning of the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah is not his death, burial, and resurrection on the third day, but: ‘the Kingdom of Elohim (Yahweh). Yeshua proclaimed his gospel, which began with the announcement of the Kingdom of Elohim. So, the Kingdom of Elohim is part of the gospel of Yeshua the Messiah.

Mark 8:31 [TS 2009]
And He began to teach them that the Son of Adam has to suffer much, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days to rise again.

Yeshua completes his gospel by announcing the Kingdom of Elohim on earth; the death, burial, and resurrection of the Messiah on the third day to ensure our entry into that Kingdom by faith.

TO PARTICIPATE IN THE KINGDOM OF YAHWEH
ONE MUST BE REDEEMED BY THE DEATH OF THE MESSIAH ON THE CROSS
AND HIS RESURRECTION CONFIRMS THE FULFILMENT OF HIS PROMISES

In short, Yeshua came to offer us something wonderful, called ‘the Kingdom of Elohim’. But to participate in it, one must be redeemed by the death of the Messiah on the cross. And the assurance that everything promised by the Messiah will become a reality was confirmed by his resurrection from the dead.

It is written in:

1 Corinthians 15:12-20 [Paraphrased]
But if the Messiah is preached as having been raised from the dead, how can some say that there is no resurrection of the dead? For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then the Messiah has not been raised either. And if the Messiah did not rise, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is also in vain. And we are found to be false witnesses of the Eternal.
