There is no witness more reliable or trustworthy than Yeshua the Messiah. We should trust no one more than we trust him, when we want to identify the Eternal. In order to determine the identity of the Eternal we must go to his testimony. He does reveal his Father, the Eternal to us. In fact, we are told in the Scriptures that the very reason the Messiah came was so that we might know the the One and Only, True Eternal, Yahweh. And that we might know Yeshua the Messiah, whom He sent. We are told this in
1 John 5:20 [Hebraic roots Bible - HRB]
And we know that the Son of YAHWEH has come, and He has given to us an understanding that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Yahshua Messiah. This is the true Elohim and eternal life.
And in
John 1:18 [E W Bullinger Companion Bible - EWB CB]
No man [human eye] hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, He Who is into the bosom of the Father, That One revealed Him.
The Messiah defined eternal life as knowing his Father and knowing him
John 17:3 [The Scriptures - TS]
And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and יהושע{Yehoshua}Messiah whom You have sent.
(Yeshuas words in purple)
Yeshua declared or expressed Yahweh who has never been seen by man. The Messiah came for this purpose.
THE FOREMOST COMMANDMENT
On a certain occasion, one of the scribes came to Yeshua and asked him a question
Mark 12:28 [Berean Study Bible - BSB]
...Which commandment is the most important of all?
To which Yeshua answered
Mark 12:29-30 [TS] 29 “The first of all the commands is, ‘Hear, O Yisra’el, יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one. (Deuteronomy 6:4). 30 ‘And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.(Deuteronomy 6:5)
He declared what he considered to be the main and foremost commandment of the Torah, the ‘Shema’ (called ‘Shema’ after the first word in Hebrew of this verse «shema» which means hear).
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 [The Scriptures - TS] 4 Hear{shema}, O Yisra’el: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one! 5 “And you shall love יהוה{the Eternal} your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.
Another version renders it as
Deuteronomy 6:4 [Urim-Thummim Version - UTV] Hear O Israel, YHWH{Yahweh} Elohim is the one and only YHWH{yahweh}.
HEAR, O YISRA'EL,יהוה OUR ELOHIM, יהוה IS ONE (Deuteronomy 6:4). (THE SHEMA) IS THE MOST IMPORTANT COMMANDMENT IN THE WHOLE TORAH.
And the Scribe said to him
Mark 12:32-33 [TS]
32...“Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one Elohim, and there is no other besides Him. (Deuteronomy 4:35).
33 “And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the being, and with all the strength,
The Scribe not only declares that the Eternal <is one>, he adds that <there is no other besides Him>. He refers to the Eternal as <Him>.
Yeshua and the scribe are agreeing that the Eternal is a ‘Him’ and not ‘a unity of a divine nature, composed of three manifestations’.
When Yeshua saw that the scribe answered wisely, he said to him
Mark 12:34 [HRB] ...You are not far from the kingdom of YAHWEH
THE QUESTION OF THE TRINITY HEAVILY REVOLVES AROUND THE MEANING OF THE SHEMA
The answer is in the passage that we have just seen above but the ‘trinitarians’ refuse to see this. Yeshua, as a Jew and as the Messiah, was required to know and obey the Torah and its commandments. To obey the «shema», he had to know what it meant; he needed to interpret it, in order to obey it. He obeyed that commandment by worshipping and serving One person as his only Elohim (God), his Father. He obeyed this commandment by recognising only his Father. He obeyed it by loving his Father with all his heart, soul and strength, and not loving a ‘triune god’ with all your heart, soul and strength, as trinitarians interpret the «shema». That fact that he recognised only his Father as his one and only Elohim, shows us exactly how he interpreted the words of the «shema». The «shema» means that יהוה is one single ‘He’ which is Yeshua’s Father alone.
Yeshua did not sin. He was obedient to the law in every respect. If Yeshua believed in the ‘triune god’ he would have disobeyed the «shema» which instructed him to recognise his Elohim, and described who his Elohim is. In the book of Revelation, Yeshua testifies that
Revelation 1:6 [HRB] ...(Messiah) made us kings and priests to YAHWEH, even His Father. To Him is the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen.
We are made kings and priests not to a false ‘triune god’, but to Yahweh his Father and his Elohim.
