WHAT IS ‘THE LAW OF MESSIAH’ IN GALATIANS 6:2?

Many have understood that the term <law of Messiah> in Galatians 6 refers to a new law given by Yeshua. This is not so; it refers to all the teachings of the Messiah which are based in the Law or Instruction of the Father Yahweh.
The Greek word used here is «nomos» (law) and it is obviously translated from the Hebrew word «Torah». But the word Torah does not always mean ‘law’, in fact, it generally means teaching or instruction. Note for example, how the word Torah in Proverbs 1:8 is rendered in different versions

The Scriptures (1998) – My son, heed the discipline of your father, And do not forsake the Torah of your mother

Word of Yahweh [WoY] – My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law{Torah} of thy mother

Rotherham – Hear, my son, the correction of thy father, and do not reject the instruction{Torah} of thy mother

(Leeser)  Hear, my son, the instruction of thy father, and cast not off the teaching{Torah} of thy mother;

Complete Apostles’ Bible – Hear, my son, the instruction of your father, and reject not the rules{Torah} of your mother.

We see that the Hebrew word Torah is variously translated as: law, instruction, teaching, rules…

So, what is really the ‘instruction or teaching of Messiah?

The Teaching of Messiah

John 7:17
“If anyone desires to do His desire, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is from Elohim, or whether I speak from Myself.
John 8:28
So יהושע{Yeshua} said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Adam, then you shall know that I am He, and that I do none at all of Myself, but as My Father taught Me, these words I speak.
John 14:10
“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak from Myself. But the Father who stays in Me does His works.

As a messenger from Yahweh, Yeshua the Messiah was ‘the mouth of Yahweh’. Therefore, everything he taught proceeded from the Father Yahweh; they were not different teachings rather they were the teachings of Yahweh expressed through Yeshua’s mouth in a renewed form.
